There are 4 important topics that are extremely relevant to the functioning of the group. We shall define these in the current byte.
- Norms of Behavior: These refer to the standards that a work group uses to evaluate the behavior of its members
- Group Cohesion: Refers to the “interpersonal glue” that makes members of the group stick together
- Social Loafing: Refers to the failure of group members to contribute personal time, effort, thoughts or other resources to the group
- Loss of Individuality: Refers to the social process in which individual group members lose self-awareness and its accompanying sense of accountability, inhibition and responsibility for individual behavior.
